Heidi Mann currently teaches both the Rosebud and Sunflower classes. She feels grateful to have found a terrific group of families at a school that actively engages children’s minds, bodies, and spirit. She feels that learning in nature with open inquiry is essential to foster a life-long love of learning. 

Heidi earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Indiana University with a minor in Special Education and Multicultural Education. She completed her student teaching on the Navaho Reservation in Arizona and later taught third grade for two years on the Fort Belknap Reservation in Montana. She has recently earned an M.S. in Education Leadership and Policy with a specialty in Ecology and Leadership from Portland State University. She has lived in Portland for ten years and she has taught preschool, kindergarten, and worked in school administration. In her free time, Heidi has volunteered for after school literacy programs and summer camps. She enjoys traveling, eating sushi, and playing outside.
